Games To Play When You Are Trapped In A Storm

Every storm does not yield catastrophic results, but they can certainly yield inconveniences. Storms that do not rise to the level of a hurricane can still cause serious damage, school closures, delays, and closed roads. Remember, it does not have to be hurricane to cause damage. So, what do you do when the storm has passed, and the family is safe and bored? Try out these four game ideas, if you find yourself trapped in after a storm.

  1. Bingo - Bingo is one of the classic games that is fun for all ages, it does not require more than some bingo chips and a board. Get creative and find cool household items to use a chips and make the board from scratch. For example, use candy for the bingo chips and hand draw a bingo board on plain white paper. The winner gets all of the candy on the board.
  2. Charades - This is another timeless game full of laughs. Charades does not require anything but people and words! If you want to make it interesting give a special gift to the winner. For example, the person who gets the most words correct, gets to do the dishes for a week. Not much of a gift, but it serves them right for winning.
  3. Treasure Hunt - Parents use this to your advantage, send your kids on a hunting throughout the house to find random items. Get creative with the treasure hunt! For instance, give them a duster and tell them that who ever collects the most dust bunnies wins. This will keep you from dusting for a while, and possibly give you a momentary break.
  4. Trivia - This is a game that not only educates but excites. You can play trivia by using commercial trivia games found at most larger retail chains, or by making your own trivia. To make your own trivia, find a topic that you are knowledgeable in and develop a series of questions and answers. Once these questions and answers have been developed, ask the other parties and see who gets the most correct. This will be fun and informative.

I hope these games ideas were helpful or at least humorous. Just remember, on a cloudy day have a sunny time! Also remember, we are here to help you through any challenges you may face as a result of a storm. Consultations are free, give us a call.
